Traveling With Tauck Bridges

Don't leave home without your important documents. Make sure you have all the documents you will need before you leave home, including passports, airline tickets and photo IDs for each person traveling with you. Not having the proper documents can disrupt your travel plans, so make sure you don’t leave home without them.

Traveling with children without one or more of their parents. Many of the countries on Tauck Bridges itineraries have specific entry requirements for children under 21 who are traveling internationally without one or both parents, including requiring a notarized parental permission letter, signed by the parent or parents not traveling with the child. You can download a sample permission letter at www.tauckbridges.com

Planning and preparing for your family's vacation
The best family vacation starts with choosing a destination that will be fun for everyone in the group. Involve your children in the planning process. Read about what you will see and do and look at pictures of the places you will be visiting; the more everyone is involved, the more exciting the trip becomes.

Don’t leave packing until the last minute, and pack light. Comfortable, loose-fitting clothes that can be layered are best, the brighter the better, so you can easily spot your children in a crowd. Roll your clothes in the suitcase to provide as much packing room as possible, and give your children their own bags. Pack backpacks and carry-on bags with items your children will enjoy during the trip, including favorite toys and snacks.

The best ages for the most family fun. While families with children 3 years of age and older are welcome on all of our adventures, most of our days’ activities are more fun and better suited for children 8 and over.  Please note that there may be age restrictions on certain activities and that children must be accompanied by the adult they are traveling with to participate in our on-tour activities.

Booking your family vacation. At least one guest in the traveling party must be 21 or older to make a reservation and children under 18 must be booked in a room with at least one adult.

Avoid jet lag – arrive a day early. Arranging hotel accommodations in the city where your journey begins for the night preceding your Tauck Bridges adventure not only gives you more time to explore on your own, it also helps you and your family become better acclimated to any time changes before your journey begins – an important factor to consider when traveling with children!

Listen, Laugh and Learn. Let your vacation begin the moment you leave home! No matter what you have planned, be flexible and expect the unexpected; that’s part of the fun of traveling! Share your enthusiasm with your children, ask questions, wonder out loud, listen, and balance learning with laughter.
